Overview
The framework covers waterway and vegetation management across Cumbria and Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Yorkshire. As primary supplier for the region, Lowther deliver a wide range of activities including grass and vegetation management, tree management, flood prevention works and invasive weed control. Protection of the aquatic environment is central to all planning and operations across the contract.
Works Undertaken
Our approach to managing sensitive aquatic and riparian environments is supported by the deployment of specialist plant and equipment selected specifically for the conditions and constraints of each site. This enables access to challenging terrain, including steep gradients, soft ground, and environmentally sensitive areas, while minimising disturbance to surrounding habitats.
The use of low-impact, specialist equipment allows vegetation management, flood resilience, and environmental maintenance works to be undertaken safely and efficiently, reducing the risk of damage to sensitive flora, fauna, watercourses, and riparian zones. This capability has been developed through decades of working within highly regulated environments, where environmental protection, operational efficiency, and safe delivery are critical to project success.
