What species do you typically plant?
Species selection is guided by site conditions, soil type, altitude and the ecological objectives of each project. We typically work with UK-sourced native broadleaves and conifers, selecting mixes that promote biodiversity, resilience and long-term woodland structure.
How long until a new woodland establishes?
Establishment timelines depend on species, site conditions and management objectives. Most planted woodlands begin to form a closed canopy within 10 to 15 years, though early ecological benefits such as ground flora, insect habitat and carbon sequestration begin much sooner. We provide aftercare programmes to support healthy establishment during the critical early years.
Do you handle fencing and tree protection?
Yes. We supply and install deer fencing, stock fencing, tree guards and other protective measures as part of our woodland creation service. Proper protection is essential for survival rates, particularly on sites with grazing pressure or deer populations.
